Holiday Card 2023
After my three Rhode Island Red chickens and I spent most of the summer working remotely from the coast of Maine, I decided to give our 2023 holiday card an "adventure" theme (for context, 2022 was very homey). Enlisting the help of my friend Suzy, we hiked into Sebago Lake for a glam shoot with the girls. Penelope, Marigold, and Fiona generously served their celebrity-like personalities, posing proudly for the camera. Suzy was kind enough to capture some behind-the-scenes video and photos, which I’m happy to share (thanks, Suzy!). At the end of the shoot, as I moved the girls back into their carrier, Penelope was the last one on the rock. Feeling marooned, she flew up onto my back - a reminiscent moment from when she used to perch on my shoulder as a chick.
